AquaReina’s 2022
The title of the Mermaid Society Ambassador is an homage to the Aquamaid, who were synchronized underwater ballet performers at Aquarena Springs from the 1950s to the early 1990s.
Today Mermaid Society AquaReina’s represent a group of like-minded individuals committed to our founding pillars– Stewardship, Preservation, Local, Art, Sustainability, Heritage – All things San Marcos.
The AquaReina initiative has been a dream of Mermaid Society for several years and finally made a goal for this year. We are pleased to announce we can now share this exciting milestone with the community! Each Ambassador brings a myriad of talents and genuine enthusiasm to support Mermaid Society’s vision and mission. Ambassadors will assist with our Youth Eco Programming, River-Clean Up’s, Community Outreach, Mermaid Capital of Texas Fest, and, of course, representing Mermaid Capital of Texas in public appearances such as signature parades in surrounding cities and creative media efforts to promote guardianship of The San Marcos River.
It gives us great honor to announce the 'FIRST-EVER' Mermaid Society AquaReina’s! Stay tuned as we will spotlight each Ambassador in the days and weeks ahead.
