Eco-Guardian

Book Program

It’s not enough to simply teach children to read; we have to give them something worth reading.

Calling all Eco-Heroes and Book Lovers!

Exciting News! We're thrilled to announce the FIN-tastic launch of our Eco-Guardian Book Program!

As we celebrate our 7th birthday this year, we're investing all our attention towards our youth-focused eco-education goals. We are excited to embark on an MER-mazing journey of environmental stewardship right here in our local community! We can’t think of a better way to commemorate this milestone than by focusing all our energy on nurturing young minds to value our natural resources.

What's the buzz all about? Our brand-new program is making waves with a unique book gifting initiative that's all about fun and learning. We're on a mission to nurture the next generation of Eco-Guardians who will champion the protection and preservation of mother earth.

The adventure begins at three local libraries: Wimberley Village Library, Martindale Community Library, and the San Marcos Public Library. We've stocked them up with an amazing assortment of hand selected books, ranging from eco-conscious reads and of couse, enchanting mermaid tales that'll spark the imagination of kids of all ages!

Here's where YOU come in! Join us in this exciting journey by purchasing books from our Wish List.  We’ve created a wish list on Amazon to make it convenient for anyone who wants to contribute.   Your chosen books will find their permanent home in these libraries, becoming a gift that keeps on giving. You're invited to leave your mark with a personalized note inside the book – a tribute to a special someone, a cherished memory, or a business that cares. Each book will feature our Eco-Guardian Book Program label inside the cover with room to acknowledge the name of the person or business gifting the book.

And hey, let's keep it local! Support our community's small businesses whenever you can while buying the books. We're all about nurturing a love for reading and a passion for protecting our environment.

The best part? Our book bonanza continues all year long! There is no end date to this program.  There are so many creative ways you can help support this book program for years to come. We encourage you to consider asking friends and family to get in on the fun! As books are received, we will then deliver them to each of the libraries.  If you have a new hardback book, you may have purchased not using Amazon services, please send to Mermaid Society SMTX's P.O. Box 963 San Marcos, Texas 78667

EXCITING NEWS!

When you donate to our Eco-Guardian Book Program or GOFUND Campaign to create our Eco-Guardian Mascots, you'll receive a one-of-a-kind handmade mermaid doll as a heartfelt thank-you gift!

We want to express our deepest gratitude to the incredible Merlyn Corcoran, who learned about our mission and started creating these amazing works of art to help support us! Merlyn has crafted over 200 handmade dolls with love and dedication to gift to the Mermaid Society, so we may gift to others. She's poured more than 400 hours into these dolls, all with the hope of making a positive impact in some way.

Each mermaid doll is a unique masterpiece, handmade with intricate details, and no two dolls are the same! How amazing is that?

We can't think of a better way to say "Thank you" than by sharing one of Merlyn's beautiful creations with you. We are grateful to Merlyn for these incredible gifts, and we know you'll be just as appreciative when you receive one of her heartfelt and handmade creations!

With the holidays just around the corner, why not consider donating in honor of a loved one or gifting someone who has everything with a donation to our programming? It's a unique and meaningful way to make a positive impact on our environment and spread joy this holiday season.

Please don't wait too long to donate to our GOFUND campaign. The online campaign organized by our new friends at Texas State University-McCoy College of Business are leading the charge to help raise funding for our mascots. We are incredibly grateful for this awesome team of entrepreneurial students who are dedicating their support to our project! This online campaign ends THIS SUNDAY at noon! However, after this campaign concludes, we'll keep working hard to raise the much-needed funding to create our SMTX Endangered Species mascots!

Your donation WILL make all the difference!
